Can someone pass me the mic - I have a question

Attended the 'Asia House' conference on the 13th and 14th Oct. Not even the chinese ambassador got away without a gift of my question.

Question: 'What is china doing to sustain the current growth they are enjoying?'

I was expecting a wishy washy answer about 'motherhood and apple pies' but instead I was surprised at the granularity and specificity of the reply. After going over managing financial sector he went on to explain how excessive polluting agents of commercialism will be shut down and briefly touched on China's plans for managing greenhouse gases.

Around about this point I was half expecting Matee's (youngest of the Captain Planet's crew) monkey to jump onto the stage from, chasing a fly that had made its way into the conference, followed closely by his stumbling keeper as he tried to catch him before the gig was up.

I doubt the Q&A was transcribed, but if I find it I'll put a link >>here<<.

Farnborough airshow - defying gravity & making noise

What goes up, must make a lot of sound to stay up. Would definitely recommend it, but make sure you have plenty of memory cards and battery. Yes ... My camera battery ran out - I was gutted.

Just coz ....

Just because it's at the royal opera house does not mean it will be opera. It is in fact ballet.

So effectively I'm watching a bunch of people doing, what I can best describe as, a bleep test ... Working out as I sit crookedly in my chair to get a better view. Oh .. and did I mention it sells like the inside of an airplane.

To be Cultured and confused - at the Opera

I feel so cultured and confused and a little bit posh, but not too much ... The best kinda combination there is.

A 'fluty' song ...

By 'Grizzly Bears' ... if you come across this on Facebook, the video is on the blog so you'll have to follow the line to the source. Enjoy, I surely did ...

'Grizzly bears' ... Simply Spectacular

I normally don't use that word but this concert was .. Well ... Spectacular, that btw is better than Awesome. See the blog for the video and other pics.

'Grizzly Bear' @ London Roundhouse

One man's dinner party another man's concert !!

What a concert ... The sound system @ Roundhouse is Awesome ... I wish I could take the base how with me. Not to mention sold a ticket to a 'skyper', is that what they are called?

Thanks Fahad,

Ministry of sound

Awesome !! ... But now the rest of the would be spent recovering my hearing .. and voice. Not really sure why I was screaming so much ... Hmm need to work that one out !

It's the season to belt a note

Carols at work ... Awesome and relaxing. It's a shame that I must now head back to my desk :(

EID mubarak to all who read this ...

For all others I can say whatever I want on the account they won't read it ... But I won't ..

It always surprises me how people take pictures of each other at the mosque, like tourists ... I suppose it's a testament to their infrequently visits to a mosque ... In which case an urge to document an exception is understandable ... What can I say, I'm packed full with empathy ...

Price for being smart ...

It's smart to sacrifice the last 10 min of the game to catch a clear way home. What's makes this not so smart is 30,000 smart people thinking the same thing!

Price for being over smart .... Is a waiting a long que.

Gunners vs the black team?

So far it's 2-1 ... based on the noises. I could be wrong ... Very wrong. The game rolls on but it's ok ... all is not lost, I smell pizza ...

Exploring for ecstasy

Spent the better part of Saturday evening at an unplugged session with latif balot's sufi music. Very interesting and relaxing ... If only the seating arrangement was a little more comfy.

Sure will try this again ...

What goes 'swing' and misses

This clip starts at his 8th attempt and goes on from there. Giving me enough time to arm myself with my camera.

Suffice to say it was mucho entertaining.

Spoilt for choice with no lick of sense

No idea where to begin ...

Driving with a hockey stick

My skills at golf are a notch below "don't ever come near the game" ...

On the plus side, I have been told that I have an uncanny ability to make the ball bounce behind the scope-thing before sending it on it's way at a direction that can only be described as something spit out by a random generator, including some outliers making their way behind me.

What can I say ... I'm gifted that way ... especially when it comes to sports. Time to tee up ...

Bridging the GAAP

Couldn't think of a better title ... Almost at the end of the trip.

A boat full of actuaries

There is no better way to spend your friday night than this ... booze, boat and baguette ... lets hope we don't run out of math
